Both new and familiar faces will perform at the 45th annual AMAs. P!nk and Kelly Clarkson will open the show, followed by Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and relative newcomer Alessia Cara. Christina Aguilera will perform a Whitney Houston tribute in honor of The Bodyguard’s 25th anniversary next week, and none other than Ellis Ross’s mom, Diana Ross, will round out the retro element of the night, while also standing by to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, #Casual.

Bruno Mars. The “That’s What I Like” singer is up for eight awards: Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Favorite Male Artist – Pop/Rock, Favorite Album – Pop/Rock, Favorite Male Artist – Soul/R&B, Favorite Album – Soul/R&B, Favorite Song – Soul/R&B and Favorite Artist – Adult Contemporary.
Who will receive the AMA Lifetime Achievement award?
Legendary R&B and soul singer and actress Diana Ross — who is the mother of this year’s AMAs host, actress Tracee Ellis Ross.
The distinction “is only given to artists who have made truly exceptional contributions to the music industry,” the AMAs said in a press release announcing the award.
